meet emmy!
 

emmy believes in the power of possibility and hope. she understands what it can feel like when the challenges life offers feel insurmountable, and the demands of day to day life in an ableist and capitalist society do not align with what your body, mind and spirit can do (or even want to do!). she understands that systems of oppression have a huge impact on a person’s story and their ability to access support. emmy also believes that we are not alone in our experiences and our resistance. 

 

emmy knows that everyone has innate wisdom and the capacity to heal. emmy sees her role as a collaborator and witness in supporting clients move through areas of pain and stuckness. emmy believes that with understanding, empathy, and curiosity, she can support clients to create more room to breathe and move towards what matters most to them. her practice is grounded in intersectional feminist, queer, anti-oppressive and decolonial theory. she also recognizes that putting these theories into practice requires ongoing work of listening, learning and unlearning. she also draws upon narrative, somatic and internal family systems approaches in her work. 

 

emmy is a queer, cisgendered and neurodivergent woman. she has lived experience with mental health challenges, chronic health related burn-out, and supporting loved ones experiencing challenges with substance misuse. she is an uninvited settler of european descent living on the unceded traditional and ancestral homelands of the xwm??kw?y??m (Musqueam), Skwxw?7mesh (Squamish), and S?l??lw?ta?/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations in vancouver.
